Vilem Fruhbauer's Bio
Vilem Fruhbauer was born in Czechoslovakia in 1977. During high school he helped with his father's veterinary practice, worked at various construction companies, and had a contract with his home town to control blight. So he learned already from teenage years that money does not grow on trees. From high school he went to Technical University of Ostrava where he earned a Master's Degree in Thermal Technology Engineering. During his college studies he had his desktop PC sales and repair business, as well as worked for three years on weekends as a plumber's assistant.
After relocating from Czech republic to Connecticut in 2003, Vilem Fruhbauer held one of his first jobs as a pipe fitter at a golf course construction company. Later he worked as a salesman at e-commerce company, materials consultant, international relocation consultant, maintenance personnel at a retirement home. One of the biggest regrets of his early work career in the US is that he worked for others for six too long years, before he became a business owner of an Internet software and marketing company until 2013. In 2003 he realized the brutality of competition in the form of cheap firms from India, cheap alternatives from multi-level marketing companies, and the final nail to the coffin was the availability of free / drag and drop website builder platforms.
After a decade of exploring multiple career paths and industries, Vilem Fruhbauer came back to his roots in engineering, construction trades, and plumbing by joining forces with Albert Dumont in 2012. Due to Vilem's expertise with sales, customer service, marketing, and plumbing, he was able to manage Al's plumbing business on the fly from the first day. To accomplish his plumbing credentials in the US, Vilem Fruhbauer completed a 720 hour Plumbing Technician certification program at IMTI as required by the State of Connecticut, and received his CT master plumber license. In 2014 he realized that the only business ideas worth pursuing full-time for him are in the housing and home improvement / plumbing sectors.
In 2012 when The Jumpstart Our Business Startup Act or JOBS Act was passed, it eased crowdfunding rules for both entrepreneurs and non-accredited investors. Since then the angel investing is no longer reserved for the top 1% and anyone can invest in startups. Vilem is mainly interested in companies with brilliant and experienced founders in the areas of artificial intelligence, software, eco-friendly technologies, biotech and tele-health with 100+ deals under the belt. He became a founding member of Angels + Entrepreneurs Network in 2019.
